What are the pros and cons of a standard riding lawn mower and a zero turn lawn mower?

Havent decided yet on what to buy.A regular riding lawn mower or a zero turn lawn mower.I could go either way and i have thought of some advantages and disadvantages of both but what do you think???

What are the pros and cons of both style lawn mowers? If you got an opinion, lets hear it!!!

My grandfather is a Snapper fan for as long as I can remember. He bought a blue lawnmower about a year ago that turned on a dime. After 1 summer he decided to get rid of it. He said it wasn't as pretty of a cut as the Snapper. He said it bounces to much.

how tall is a standard riding lawn mower from bottom of the tire to top?

We have a Craftsman with a 52" deck, I just sent my husband in the garage to measure.... it is 43.5" from the ground to the top of the seat. :)

I have a craftsmen lawn mower that won't start. I've tried all the standard repairs to no avail. Any ideas?

I changed the spark plug
I changed the air filter
I changed the gas
I added marvel myster oil
I added fuel injection cleaner

When I tested it by putting gas right into the spark plug opening it does turn over. So the gas is not getting into the chamber.

Is it time for a new lawn mower??

The nut (hollow "bolt") that holds the bowl on the carburetor has a tiny hole in it. Your fuel enters the rest of the carb. through that hole.

That hole getting plugged up is the most common reason for not getting fuel. You are supposed to clean that bowl at least annually.

Your float is in that bowl. If the bowl doesn't have fuel in it then you are having trouble with your float and needle.

If upright when you pull that bolt and clean that "jet" hole the float is going to let in fuel to refill the bowl. Usually I can pull the nut with a small pan under the carb to catch the gas and without pulling the bowl itself off. I can do that rather quickly. But you might want to tip it carb up or drain out the gas if you are not familiar with doing this so you so don't spill gas all over.

Good Luck

  • Hybrid Remote Control Lawn Mowers Are Setting a New Standard in ...

An independent study in 2001 said, "cutting the grass has the same amount of damage, such as driving about 100 miles on a car." This does not include the use of grass-eaters such as 2-stroke lawnmower on steep slopes, ditches, and saturated soil. The lawn mower hybrid remote control, such as South SRX22T RobotX allows lawn care professionals to increase productivity in such situations, while at the same time reduce fuel consumption. The hybrid power system to reduce the consumption of this fuel cut by 40%, as well as keeping the battery charged while in use. Professional lawn care do not usually care about the MPG on your mowing equipment. But, giving them an alternative to ozone-eaters 6-8 eat grass on slopes up to 70 degrees, which are able to increase productivity through green technology business level. This is a win-win situation for the environment, and lawn care professional. Another win-win situation is the residential part of things. The residential models benifiting the elderly and / or disabilities that because the physical demands of gardening equipment from traditional, often used someone else will take care of your garden. Unlike most of us, a lot of older people enjoy working meter. And now, through the use of green technologies, are able to rekindle their passion for the work site. The hybrid mower practicallity remote is what distinguishes one beside the other, more environmentally friendly, lawn mowers on the market today. The momentum of all electric mowers are ideal for the environment, but you must use a 12 "cutting blade fragile because of the lack of engine power for electricity. The fully robotic lawn mowers are very environmentally friendly. Are not practical in most lawns, either. Not only use leaves very fragile, but we have to bury a wire, similar to the invisible dog fence around the perimiter of the field. Slopes over 20 degrees are not recommended for fully robotic lawn mowers. However, if your garden is less than 10,000 square feet, and not the mind to change the sheets ever so often and bury a wire around the perimiter, all electric mower is environmentally conscious choice. The remote hybrid mower have the perfect balance between being environmentally friendly and practical for most lawns.
