Took the muffler off because I was bored.

do not want to purchase a $75.00 catalog. My mower has 3 drive shafts and 2 riders

A good quality mower will have a decal somewhere on it for belt installation. Look around there should be one. Some are under the foot rests.

According to Briggs and Stratton, you would use 48 oz. checking your dipstick frequently. It you change the oil filter, fill the oil to the fill mark, then run the engine, then shut it off and let it sit for a few minutes and check the dipstick again and fill as needed.

the scott mower I have was built by murray

look up the mower on scott of murray web site, but there should be a diagram on the deck toi show how to replace it, just be sure to readjust the bolts back tight and deck straight when finished getting the new belt on they arer not hard to replace and most belts can be bought at a local hardware store also, it is simply readjusting the deck so it dont throw the new belt off and burn it up as sooin as you start the mower

I have a Scott's lawn mower that wont stay running! I have gas in it, replaced the spark plug. It will start and then stops! Whats wrong with it! Help, I really need my lawn mowed!

If the mower was in storage the carb will need taken apart and cleaned.Another cause could be the gas tank not being vented. Try taking off the gas cap and see if it runs if it does buy a new cap..
