need parts for riding lawn mower it is a international brand

I need more info on your tractor. Model, age, color, any additional info including the parts you're looking for. I can't reference just International. Is there a data plate on it with a "true" manufacturer? I want to help, but am hitting dead ends with International Harvester, Cub Cadet, Navistar and McCormick. Help.....

Does anyone know what time of year they go on sale?

I am looking for one for my husband. I have a 20% off coupon that is accepted at both Lowe's and Home Depot but if I can find something "seasonal" as well. That would be great. The coupon doesn't expire until December of 2008.

Has anyone had any experience with buying John Deere riding lawn mowers and bought them "seasonally"?

we received some gift ccertificates as a housewarming gift to Canadian Tire (for a lawnmower) and we are having a heck of a time decided which brand to get, they have some excellent deals on yard works machines but I have never heard of them and I am having trouble deciding whether to go with the Brand name (which is considerably more expensive) or the Yard works Self Propeller mower which is on sale until tomorrow for about 40% off.

Sounds like you are talking about a push mower. Look on the sides of the mowers. Most of them will say MTD or made by MTD. MTD makes most of your cheap brands of lawnmowers and most all of them will have a Briggs & Stratton engine. What people don't realize is there are different grades of Briggs & Stratton Engines. I would look at a John Deere, Toro, or mower that has a Honda engine on it. Those three brands should last.

Depends on the class of lawn mower racing you want to get into. The lowest/slowest class rules state you can spend no more than $200 on the mower and you cannot modify the engine or deck, other than take the blade off. Then there is the fastest class, modified, which is wide open but you have to use the same engine that came on the mower. Considering Jr Drag motors can run in the 4 to 8K dollar range, you get the general idea that it can be very expensive at the top.

I'm not a 1-upper bot my boss just bought a "Snapper" with a harley shovel head V-Twin on it. Wheelie bars and all! True story. Good of about 75 mph! i'm sure he could part with it.
