Thanks a lot--- I looked at Lowe's and Wal Mart and saw NONE! :-(
They actually sell out really fast at most hardware stores.
In our area, Home Depot, True Value and Valu sold them as of last year. We literally had to ask the guy in Valu when they'd come in and have one put aside for us.
Amazon.com has many of them with "super saver" shipping, which means it will come to you.

how would I sharpen the blades?
Just take it to the shop or hardware stores -- they usually sharpen the mower/tool blades.
My father always had one of these and a "regular" motorized push lawn mower. We had over an acre, and this was one of our chores. Just don't let the grass get too high. I always thought the reel mower was cool.
He also always kept a sling blade for the grass/yard/garden.
I think this is a nice green alternative, altho' I can understand why people would not want to do this in a large yard.
And by the way, our yard had a total of 5 terraces, and was NOT landscaped and even!!!

Which are best for overall use of cutting glass in low expense to maintain?
Push reel uses only human power. Ours has never needed sharpening, so is both low cost and low maintenance. If you've never used one and have hills, you might borrow or rent one first to see whether you're up to it.

Do you leave it there (some places say it's good for the grass)? Do you clean it up? How?
If the cut grass is not so thick that it will smother the grass beneath it, leave it there, it will put nutrients back into the soil. If it's too thick, you will have to rake it up.
I purchased a sunlawn reel push mower and the three part handle is very warped..Will it straighten its self out if I put it together and use it?
It won,t do it by it self . Can you take it back?? If so get your money back go to Lows and get a Scotts you won,t have any problems, hope this helps

Manual Push Reel Lawn Mowers: How to Choose the Best of Scotts ...
Simple, classic, mechanical push mowers are
Emission-free and environmentally friendly. Low maintenance. Safer than gas mowers. Pleasant to use: quiet, smokeless and smell-free. Standard Lawn MowersPushing the mower causes the wheels to spin the barrel of curved blades (the reel), which move across the bottom cutting bar (bed knife). This slices grass just like a pair of scissors. Like scissors, the revolving blades are forced against the cutting bar by the tension in the mechanism. This prevents thin blades of grass from slipping through.
This does make noise and the friction dulls the blade after about a year. Sharpening kits are available for some brands (gritty grinding cream is spread on the blades and the reel is spun backwards).
Popular brands include Scotts and American Lawn Mower Company.
Self-Sharpening Push MowersSelf-sharpening mowers (such as those made by Gilmour) cut grass in the same way as standard mowers. There is an additional mechanism to sharpen the blades as the reel is turning.
