the engine runs ok but as i go along it like it slips in and out of gear

Does it have a hydrostatic transmission or a belt?
If it has a belt it could need a new one or maybe it's too loose.
If it has the fancy transmission it could need more oil or the filter is clogged up.

If you have a stick shift that move by it self into neutral and you have to hold the stick in the gear so it will not shift out. Your gear box could have worn gears. Not a good thing.

Depends on condition. Low hours, new belts and blades - might bring $500 if it looks new and has been maintained. The key in selling used equipment is that it is "ready to mow."

It sounds like its turning off and back on constantly and I know i have enough oil and fuel in there so what could be the problem???

I have to agree with 'ouch' above: Poulan products have a tarnished history, and once fell under the Electrolux umbrella of corporate brands, but not sure who makes them now. Your problem sounds related to the carburetor, but not sure. Since its still new, its under warranty. Return it and make them fix it or replace it. If you're willing to take chance, stick with what you have. But if you can part with a few more dollars, take the other poster's advice and trade up to a more reliable brand.

I have a 1 year old riding mower (Poulan Pro) and I am having trouble with it when I am mowing the ditches at my house, when I am on an angle, one of the wheels comes off the ground, and it just starts spinning. its a pain in the butt. I want to either put lugged wheels on it, or get a locking rear differential for it. Can I do this, or is there anything you can sugest?

The way most transmissions are made, all power will go to the free wheel. The only way to put a locking differential on your mower is by changing the transmission. And that is a very expensive undertaking. I do know Simplicity tractors from the Broadmoor up, have a thing called Automatic Controlled Traction. If one tire spins, the other still gets power. And from the Conquest up they have a locking differential.
