i did use and it was ok now i want to move and will not go what should i do

It could be one of two things : either the drive belt is way to worn to move the tractor or the transmission has internal problems.
When its running, see if the transmission pulley is rotating ( in neutral) - if the belt seems to be 'flopping ' around quite a bit, then its a possibility it needs to be replaced or it couldve slipped off .
Transmission- well if its internal, the cheepest way is to replace the trans- with the tractor off and rear wheels off the ground, place it in gear and turn the wheels- see if the transmission pulley turns . If the wheels have a hard time turning, then its either internal or the brakes could be stuck on. The brake caliper assy is on the gear shifting side right behind the rear tire. The little 'wheel ' on the side of the trans is the brake rotor - this should rotate with the wheels turning.

My lawn mower I use to beat on, maybe does 15mph? I will see tomorrow.

Three things are necessary for a gasoline engine to start. They meet in the combustion chamber during compression of the cylinder:

1. Gasoline 2. Air 3. Spark

If any ONE of these three is not there, IT WON'T !!!
(START)

The spark plug may be too old or fouled. You can remove and clean the old one, get a new one if necessary.

The air filter may need changing if old and clogged. Some types can be removed and cleaned.

Before trying to start it, make sure there is oil in the crankcase, but do not overfill it. Also make sure there is gas in the gas tank and THAT THE GAS TANK HAS ITS LID SCREWED ON PROPERLY.

If you are willing to get down and dirty with doing this, it is all you need to know except for tightening loose connections and the like, often a problem with vibrating machinery.

If you still can't figure it out, you need someone who is not a mechanical klutz to lend a hand.

No one ever trained me, and I never saw a lawn mower problem I could not fix.

Anyone else can do equally well. Maybe even better.

Could it be the Float? The seal that connects to the air flow where the filter goes? I know it is not the line. It starts great but will not stay so gas must be getting cut off and just dripps from that area.

Seal is broke, rotted or just gone from around the bowl.
Could be the fuel line also.
Float can be sticking.

older mowers. Is there any place I can find the manuals on line other than them? Please help, grass is growing taller as we search! LOL Mel

Belts have numbers on them. That is used for identification. I buy all my belts at Carquest (auto parts store) They should be able to set you up easily and in your town. If you dont have one of them just call the auto parts place to see if they could help you. Take the belt with when you go in to get one.

Has a 42 inch deck 16.5 hp model # 313777 It has totaly come off and I do not the first thing about lawn mowers or pulleys or belts.

You'll have to go to a small engine repair shop. I went to murray.com and here's what they say:
