I'm shopping for a mower for my mom. She's fairly small, so I'd prefer to get her something that's easier to start. Are Honda engines easier than B&S, or are they roughly the same?
I'm also curious if mowers become harder to start as they age, if you have any knowledge about that.

my experience is Honda engines (no matter what piece of equipment they run) usually start first-pull...even after sitting for long periods of time (as opposed to the more stubborn B&S items). AND they usually keep running (longer than B&S could ever dream of). the extra $$ is usually worth it in the long run.
In this video I will show you how to adjust the valves on an overhead valve lawn mower engine. The valves need to be adjusted every year.
I do not want a bag to catch grass clippings, and I do not want it self propelled. Where can I find one that meets these specs. and if you have any experiences good or bad with a model similar to this please share.

I've narrowed down my choice of walk-behind lawn mower to two models. A Toro with a Briggs & Stratton engine, or a Honda. They both cost the same, and the difference in features is fairly negligible. So I think the choice comes down to which engine is superior and more reliable (although any other advice is appreciated too).

As long as you do proper maintenance,it should hold up fine.
I have a 26 inch mountain bike and was wondering if you can put a Honda GCV 160 lawn mower engine on it. P.S. it is 160cc
do you really want to ruin a MTB by adding over 30 pounds to it and making it really unsafe to ride? where will you put the gas tank? where will you mount the motor?

You probably haven’t given it much thought lately now that the 450cc four-stroke is here to stay, but a few years ago the industry was filled with collective uncertainty about the future. We knew the days of the two-stroke were numbered (especially since most of the manufacturers had pulled the plug on theirs already) but exactly what would replace the venerable “oil burner” hadn’t yet been determined.
Early theorists believed the industry would go the way of the “clean-burning two-stroke,” a concept that showed potential for retaining the two-stroke’s desired rapid power delivery while putting out far less pollution. There were a few variations of the concept to consider like the design Ogden which Utah inventor Frank Keoppel had come up with in the early part of the new century. Keoppel’s two-stroke engine managed to burn straight gasoline, meaning premix and oil injection would have been concepts of the past. While the details get a little complicated, I’ll try to summarize as best I can taking limited column space into consideration.
