which is better cylinder or rotary lawn mower?

i am have problems when mowing new growing grass seedling with my hoover mower,
and cannot keep the grass, it just comes out,
so which mower would suit me a new cylinder mower or rotary
mower......
soil no sorry its mudd ih ave to grow my grass on!


My staff prefer a rotary mower with a mulching deck. The advantage of the mulching deck is you do not need to pick up the trimmings.
Cylinder mowers leave a better finish but they cannot handle 'brown tops' these are the seed stalks from some varieties of grass so you have to go over it first with a rotary mower.

v-twin or single cylinder for a lawn mower?

whats the difference? which is better and why?


The difference is usually size, weight and horsepower. If you have a push mower a smaller, lighter single cylinder engine would be better. The more powerful twin would be overkill. A riding mower will benefit most from the extra horsepower of the twin and the weight and bulk isn't a problem.

How come i cant take off the cylinder head off of my lawn mower?

Briggs & Stratton 6.25hp there seems a bolt on the cylinder head to the gas tank or what ever cant get it off


the bolt that holds the gas tank on has 2 parts, after you remove the tank you have to remove the rest of the bolt, hope this helps

i put two cylinder oil in my lawn mower and it takes four stroke oil and it wont start?



if it doesn't start then drain the oil. there should be a screw like thing that is plugging it. completley drain it and then put in the correct oil in it with the right amount.
