Recently purchased a Craftsman Riding Lawn Mower with a Briggs and Stratton engine in nice condition but without an Owner's Manual. Would like to know about maintenence such as grease points, type of oil and grade of gasoline to use, etc. Sears and other parts suppliers say owner's manual is no longer available. Does anyone have a manual that they can copy and send me, or FAX, or scan and email, or just send so I can copy and return. Will pay for manual or efforts. Thanks.

It's a Craftsman 42 inch die hard IC/Gold riding lawn mower.

I took a picture of the existing deck on my Toro before I changed mine. If that's possible try doing that so you will have something to refer back to. Most decks are self contained except for the drive shaft that drives the belts, make sure that it is aligned correctly and it shouldn't be a problem.

Craftsman riding lawn mower LT1000 mowes uneven. How do you adjust this?

First, make sure the tire pressure in each tire is correct. Even a 1lb psi differential can affect mowing evenly. Second, with the mower on a flat, hard surface (driveway), use a tape measure and note the distance from the surface to the bottom of the mower deck. Do the same for the other side. If it is the same, the problem could be a bent blade(s) or the shaft bearing is worn. If the distance is not the same, check where the deck attaches, making sure it is in the same holes on each side, no bent linkage. Go to the owner manual section on deck attaching and removal for further guidelines.

I would like to sell it but I dont know how much its worth or what to ask for it. Its 18 hp, 42" deck, Brigs motor, and been used less than 75 hrs.

I would look in the paper and find a model like yours and see what they are asking. And then after you advertise and there is no takers, it most likely to high.
