case hardening a lawn mower blade is not a good idea. a power mower blade can shatter throwing shrapnel upon hitting an object such as a rock or stone. this could result in an injury to mower user. power mower blades are not case hardened for this reason!

this is a new project iam starting took the gas motor off and made room for battery have a 24 volt DC motor Case riding lawn mower

I have a Murray riding mower with a Briggs and Stratton engine. Sometimes I get gasoline in the crank case oil. This does not happen every time I use the mower but when it does get in there it is so much I have to change the oil. Help please

The other guys hit the nail on the head! But I would take your unit to your local small engine repair shop and let them handle it, but if you want to do this on your own rebuild the carb just like the other guys said.

You are going to need your engine model number of your unit, this can be found on the engine. Give those numbers to your repair shop and they will set you up with a carb rebuild kit.

Yesterday, I purchased a used lawn mower (after viewing, riding, and speaking with the seller in person) about the machine. At 500 dollars, I assumed it would be sound - and he assured me that it was in "great shape", etc. I did get a reciept, but after cutting my yard for 30 min. that same day, the mower refuses to start and I bought a battery charger thinking the battery was weak. This, however, is not the case and the mower is still not working. Do I have a case in small claims court?

Sorry to say-No you do not. Buyer beware(caveat emptor?) Talk to the seller with an open heart and maybe a good solution will present its'self. Remember that compromise is the ideal end game- anything selfish here is self-defeating and ultimately self-destructive. Do not assume anything 'cause we all know what the the word assume really means. For the beginner-( Ass of You and Me.) In your case pay special attention to the "Me" part.

There is a transformer box on my lawn. It's said on the transfermer box that "keep energized electrical equipment 10ft from one side and 3 ft for all other sideds" But will there really be any problem if an electric mower is approaching? Or is that warning just simply to make sure that if nothing approaches so nothing bad would happen in any case?

I suspect that the warning may be their to keep people from installing permanent equipment installations. Light fixtures, well water pumps, etc. I do not think anything should happen if you do not physically touch the box with the mower.

Me and my family do not have a lawn mower. And we have told our landlord that. Our neighbore up front has one but wont let us use it. and our landlord keeps getting on our case about it. Im just wondering if she is supposed to have some one else mow it or do we have to buy a lawnmower we cant afford?

What does your rental agreement say? It should be covered in the rental agreement. If it says you are responsible, you either buy a lawn mower or hire someone to mow the lawn.
