Are there any riding lawn mower attachments for cutting ditchbanks?

I'm looking for an attachment that will safely allow me to cut about a 45 degree ditchbank with my Troy bilt lawn mower, or something that would prevent rollovers.

the best thing to use is a weed wacker, sorry...

Does John Deere, Toro or Cub Cadet make a riding lawn mower with a snow removal attachment?

I mean, I want to mow my lawn but need to remove the snow first.
Also, does any clothing store sell mukluks or galoshes in mid-April?

I hear ya. I was all ready to go too, but 8 inches of global warming snow in April kind of put a halt on that

How much land are you looking at? If it's a lot, get the pull-behind. If it's a relatively small lawn, use a self-propelled and get yourself a bit of exercise too!

Ok look I found this riding lawn mower for 500$ and its a cub cadet and it is a zero turn bagger. here is a desription This Cub Cadet grass collection system mounts quickly and easily to your Cub Cadet 50 In. And I was wondering does cub cadet make bad riding lawn mowers and is their a difference in riding lawn mowers I am doing a landscape buisness and is this the mower for me I am not that rich and am 15 and have 10 yards to do a week, and I am on a budget to get a weedeater, riding lawnmower and edger and blower. I been doing this for a couple of years and all of my old equiment broke.

What you described was the bagger only. Be careful, some people take advantage of you due to your age. Bring a parent with you, and have them ask questions as well.

Don't be afraid to shop around to other dealers and ask if they have package deals for commercial accounts. Also ask for discounts for parts and such. Don't be afraid to ask the tough questions, they will try and please you to keep your business. Don't look for any special treatment from a box store. A dealer will service your equipment on site.

Good luck!

In market for riding lawn mower. Suggestions please?

I've done some research, and I'm thinking I like Cub Cadet or John Deere. I don't want to spend any more than $2000 for the tractor and bagging attachment. Will the cheapest models hold up on a 1/4 acre lawn? Do you have experience with your Deere or Cub Cadet? I can perform maintenance and repairs, but I want something that will last a while without much trouble. Does anyone have a cheaper brand (Yard Machines etc) they are happy with?

They're both good mowers as are several others. I've had a couple of Craftsman that I'd swear by. They've got a good one on sale right now for about $1700 w/bagger.

Cub Cadet has a good deal on this one. w/ a bagger it'll be about $2K

I'm thinking that'll be my next mower or one like it.

John Deere is always good but overpriced in my opinion.

All of these mowers are rated for up to 2 1/2 acres. Your 1/4 acre lot should be a piece of cake. Just remember, sharp blades and dry grass.

Whatever your choice, check out warranty, service availability, cost of maintenance (blades, belts, battery etc.) some mowers can be very expensive to maintain. Is there a dealer local?

My first Craftsman lasted 10 years and was still running pretty good in fact when I got a new one. It's 10y/o now (another Craftsman) and I'm looking. I have about 2 acres to mow. Just keep the air filters clean and oil fresh.
I also have a C/man self propelled walk behind that I mow the front with (lotta stuff to mow around, flower beds, etc). It's 5 years old and still runs like new practically.

  • Congratulations to Chuck Miller, Lawn Mower Racing Champion and no ...

I can understand that “Chuck Miller” is a generic name – according to The U.S. Census in 2000, Miller was the sixth most popular surname (only trailing Smith, Johnson, Williams, Brown and Jones), while “Charles” or “Chuck” is the eighth most popular given name in America (behind James, John, Robert, Michael, William, David and Richard).

I tell this statistic to lead into another story.

Around maybe 2000 or 2001, I’m flipping up and down the cable channels and I come across the Speed Channel .  I’ll watch Speed for about 15 seconds – just to see if they’re showing some NASCAR coverage or maybe an episode of Pinks (the show where two street rods compete, with the loser surrendering his car’s pink slip – the title papers – to the winner).

The Speed Channel was showing what appeared to be a competition involving lawn mower racing.  Oh great, I thought, this is what the 500-channel universe has brought to us.  Guys racing on riding mowers.  I started to change the channel, until I heard the announcer say:
