I want to make garden stones for christmas gifts. Need ideas!?
"Christmas Day 2009 ~ Just Us" ~13.

I know how to make them, but I am looking for a website or some other inspiration for decorating them. i.e. glass or stone imbedded in them or writing on them? I need pattern ideas.

Look up a book on making garden ornaments at the library. Also I think Michaels sells the kits. One idea is to make stepping stones, one for each person in the family and get each person to embed their handprints on each stone. Even the dog and the cat can get in on the act.

Where can I find Christmas gifts for a keen gardener?
"Christmas Day 2009 ~ Just Us" ~12.

Been looking online for home / garden products, but not the standard things I'd find in a garden centre...Any ideas of where I can buy products that are a little bit special?

I was in Whittards of Chelsea coffee supplies a few weeks ago and they had a tea set for gardeners which i thought was awesome! the cups were like plant pots, the spoons were like spades, there was a teapot, sugar bowl and milk jug, all on a tray. They were so different I wished I knew someone to get it for!!

mom: likes cooking, cleaning, and gardening

Dad: likes cars, ...tractors... im not sure. :S

Sister: likes ....things for her computer, hair things, jewlery.

Dog: Likes squeeky toys, um.. dog bones,,,

I just am only looking for any homemade things, cause christmas is just around the corner, so i am looking for gifts i can make, everyone in my house is pretty busy, so ill have time to make things.

I need them asap! cause i have lots of time now!
THANKS!!!!!!! 10 points for the best answer!! and happy holidays!

ooh, it sounds like fun! Well...

mom: make a beautiful frame with real flowrer petals or flwer theam. Then add like a little mop and vaccum in the corners! Or Make her a BIG beautiflu flower, out of paper, glitter, markers, etc....

Dad: well you know they have car models? Well get a car he might like and get a begginers model. Paint it his favorite color. Im sure it'l look nice and he'll have a smile!

Sis: get her those sets that have a pretty neclace and earings. Or make her a nice bracelet, and/or necklace. Get a little jewelery box(WalMart, EXTREMELY cheap) and maybe paint it or burn her name into it with a needle. Id like it and im 13...*grin*

Dog: well, anything can make a dog happy. Make him a pipmed out stocking filled with little treats. Make him a bandana, or a hat. I dont think dogs mind what they get as long as they get it right? I have one and every year I make her a stocking(wel i buy a cheap one and decorate it) and fill it with like a cheap squeeeky toy, and her favorite treats.

Hope I helped and you can ge art supples like at Michaells or online, or at Shopko and WalMart.

help with christmas gifts?

so i need some help deciding on christmas gifts.

I want to buy for my mom, my dad, my aunt, and 3 of my friends.

my aunts dog just died and she was like obsessed with the dog. i was thinking of blowing up a picture of the dog and then putting it in a nice frame with some other presents. but i dont know if that is a good idea.

my mom, she isnt really into anything. she likes make up and stuff but isnt obsessed. she kind of likes gardening and loves the beach.

my dad is a couch potato he watches tv all day long.

and my friends are the average 15/16 yr old girls. what should i buy everyone?

For your Aunt: I think it depends on the person. When my dog died we were fine with putting a picture of him in a frame - its still there! But some people are fragile and reminding them of their loss can make them worse then they already were feeling. I think something nice and home made would be perfect so that she knows you worked hard on something for her - it would make her season more special (ESPECIALLY after her loss).

For your mom: You could combine all of those things!! Get a beach bag and fill it with makeup, maybe a towel for the beach (or a hat, or flip flops, or sunglasses, etc), a few gardening tools and maybe some gardening gloves and a few packets of seeds (her fav flowers, vegetables, etc).

For your dad: I would get him his fav movies on DVD or TV shows, etc. Or the movies, like someone else suggested. Or a giftcard to Blockbuster or wherever he gets his movies.

For your friends: I think all girls like makeup and bath and body stuff...so u could maybe combine it all. You could make a cute little set with like some of those really comfy pj pants from costco (they come in a pack of 2 for like ten bucks or something so you could get 2 packs and keep 1 pair of pants 4 urself!!) You could buy some Mac makeup or Sephora or w/e and put it in too. Then you could buy or make your own bath salts, soaps, bubble bath, etc (look it up on google i did this one year and my friends LOVED it). You could also get them a face mask and have like a spa day where u all get together and have a sleepover and do eachothers hair and makeup and nails, etc and use the mask and stuff u made.

Good luck & hope i helped! Merry Christmas!

She doesn't have many hobbies besides growing things in her garden and going to the Casino once in a while

She doesn't need new clothes.

  • Buy Cheap

  • Personalized Christmas Holiday Gifts- It Really Is the Thought ...

So you have this uncle, see, and he is really hard to buy for. The man spends money like it’s a bodily function, and buys himself anything he wants all year long. What are you possibly going to give him that he could use, appreciate, and actually become excited about?

Don’t get discouraged. Not just yet anyway. After all, Christmas is not a time for a person to look at the commercial aspects and stress over “one-upping” himself from last year. No, sir! Christmas is a season where everyone reflects on the things they have been given, both the material and the human assets.

But it is mostly defined by the human assets: the friends and family who have been there with you through good times and bad. The aunt who knits a sweater for her niece when the family can’t afford clothes. The brother who bails you out of a jam. The parents who have loved and supported you and encouraged you, even through disagreements, that you could be anything...
