greek garden statues

Answers

Catholics if the statues are just visual aids can you pray to garden gnomes or Greek statues as aids as well?

Anyone who thinks these statues are merely "visual aids" has never purposefully smashed a statue of the Virgin Mary in front of a priest. His reaction is all the confirmation you'll need to know Catholics view them as more than just aids.

But I'm a heretical Protestant. What the heck do I know?

i am a greek-american...will i go to hell for having a replica of Venus De Milo in my garden?
Stone Statues in Garden

im not being sarcastic...i am 100 percent worried about this.

I am an american evangelical of Greek background. i am proud of my greek heritage and i have a replica of the famous greek statue "venus de milo" in my yard. the statue portrays the greek goddess aphrodite which was worshipped by the ancient greeks.

i do not worship aphrodite, i worship the Father, Son and Holy ghost. But i read this in the Bible:

Deut 7:26-NEITHER SHALT THOU BRING AN ABOMINATION INTO THINE HOUSE, LEST THOU BE A CURSED THING LIKE IT: BUT THOU SHALT UTTERLY DETEST IT, AND THOU SHALT UTTERLY ABHOR IT; FOR IT IS A CURSED THING.

Deut 27:15-CURSED BE THE MAN THAT MAKETH ANY GRAVEN OR MOLTEN IMAGE, AN ABOMINATION UNTO THE LORD, THE WORK OF THE HANDS OF THE CRAFTSMAN, AND PUTTETH IT IN A SECRET PLACE: AND ALL THE PEOPLE SHALL ANSWER AND SAY, AMEN.

so does this mean that i am cursed for having a replica of a pagan idol in my yard and does this also mean that the people at the garden decor company who made the replica are destined for Hell?

i am hoping this is not true. i do not worship the greek statues...i just think they are of artistic value and good craftsmanship and i am proud of my ethnic heritage.

you should worry not to worship idols like money, sex, alcohol, etc and worry less about a piece of marble
