I have a ton of ideas for garden sculpture that works hard for plants. Anyone out there doing this full time??? How did you get started and how much money did you need to start? I have many of the tools necessary but no space to work in the winter. Once started how long did it take to turn a livable profit??? Where do you market and how do you sell???
You can test your concepts at local craft shows where you can interact with customers. These become more and more common as summer and fall approach. Ask around and look for local craft shows on the internet.
If the devices need to be shown with plants, make up a wheeled tote box (like the plastic egg crates on wheels) with soil, plants, and sculptures and take them around to local nursury and garden centers where you can talk with owner/manager and discuss placing them for sale.
Take good pictures (or get them made) of setups, perhaps using other peoples gardens, for mailing to people and for making a web site or page and use internet features.
See if you can get a garden club open house site (like a "10 gardens tour) to include some of your things in the gardens.
Contact the local paper and see if they will do a story on a local invention and do photos in your or someone elses garden.
This is a video of some of the commission I have made for people all over the world.Made by hand with love!

I'm looking for names of artists who draw/photograph/paint/build etc gardens or the name of artists who make sculptures and statues for gardens.
Links to websites would be really helpful as well! :)
Thanks!

Ivan Hicks and Patrick Blanc are 2 names featured on the website www.skyarts.co.uk as garden artists of today.
The website www.gardenvisit.com lists garden designers by regions of the UK. Many use art and sculptiyre in their designs.
Another website worth a look is www.sculpture.org.uk which mentions the Sulpture estate at Goodwood, this features 70 works at a time, done by British sculptors of all ages, in a vast variety of materials.
Hope this helps!

Could also use pattern or plans to make myself. Could use a drawing, any size, but must be in silhouette.
put up some large sheet of paper (e.g. packing paper) onto a wall. Shine a light onto the wall, stand in front of it, so your shadow falls upon the wall, strike the pose you want and have a friend draw along the line of the shadow. Voila, a pattern.
Does anyone have any ideas using pieces of glass glued together to form projects like bird feeders and garden art.
If you could please post a link of photos within these terms.
A major problem with gluing up glass for outdoor use is the relatively low level of UV tolerance of most glues. Even those with UV protection built in, such as UV800 suggest painting for further protection. And of course, you can't paint the side against the glass and the UV goes through. I have had fairly good luck with Goop Marine, which has some UV protection in it.
The adhesives that would likely be most effective, those that actually cure with UV, are, unfortunately, mostly very thin and require exact fitting of the glass together.
I make stuff that is fused, but it turns out that much window glass varies so it isn't compatible with similar looking glass.

The Curator#39;s Office presents Patrick Wilson ~ Slow Food | Art ...
Artist Patrick Wilson. Entitled Slow Food, the five
paintings on exhibit encourage the viewer to recommit to the pleasure of
carefully looking at and savoring the elements of an abstract work of
art , allowing for deep aesthetic nourishment. A sophisticated
colorist, Wilson displays mastery in creating rectilinear layered spaces
through line, layers, pigment densities, variegated light, and textures. Drawing
on a modernist lineage, the artist manages to push abstraction’s formalist
language into realms of surprising intellectual complexity and visual
gratification. His dedication to his craft and his pursuit of meaningful
beauty are unapologetic. On view September 12 through October
17, 2009.
His insistence on slowness allows for nuances to emerge that may
otherwise go overlooked. The artist claims, “The act of consciously slowing
down and taking the...
