materials, fabric or other for the table top? Very old and rusted, table top needs to be replaced... would like to use as an outdoor summer dining table,,,,, refinish to look nice and re-surface top to be durable for rain and morning dew.... THanks soooo much.

Taka a wire brush and remove all loose, peeled paint and rust. This takes patience if your table is very fancy. Then wipe the whole thing off with a cotton cloth dampened with turpentine, or vinegar.

No paint will stick to a greasy or wet surface. First coat should be a "metal primer" or "rust retardant" type paint. Second coat can be of enamel or paint suitable for place item is to be used, usually outdoor enamel. Sometimes you can find all-in-one paints that are sufficient without using a base coat. This is usually cheaper in the long run and easier since you don't have to paint it twice. Look for Rustoleum or True Value's XO-Rust paint brands. When the paint is completely dry (a couple days) apply protective finish as if item were new.

Even small chips or scratches should be touched up immediately with primer followed by matching paint to prevent rust forming. If you're keeping this outdoors where it's exposed to rain, etc. you should invest in a nylon cover or bring it in when it's not in use.

Looking for 42 or 48 round mesh top wrought iron or aluminum outdoor table that folds for storage in white. See lots of black (but not folding). Seen smaller tables (under 30") at Target. Where can I get larger version?
I've been searching for over 5 years for this table at flea markets and tag sales with no luck. Not afraid of painting a table but finding an outdoor collapsable mesh top table seems impossible.

My wrought iron outdoor table and chairs have gone rusty on the bottom of the feet and has stained my courtyard that has been stencilled using CTi Spray Tech System.

Firstly get rid of the rust off your furniture with a rust chemical! Then use a outdoor floor & tile cleaner, scrub it on and then gurnie it off or use a high pressured hose!

I have a plain concrete patio. My house is red/brown brick with slightly off-white/taupe painted addition (next to patio) and trim. I have a black wrought iron table and chairs, a blk wrought iron glider, and 2 black rocking chairs and table. What color should I go with for throw pillows/cushions/outdoor rug. I love cozy cottage style. Any help would be appreciated to help me mak this outoor space relaxing and cozy. Thanks...I

A cozy cottage style is best achieved using a flowered patterned fabric for the cushions with a clearly understood flower and leaf design, roses or lillies or ivy.

If the furniture is out sized you can choose a large pattern. Otherwise choose a medium size pattern and repeat.

If the fabric background colour is a light green, with roses of yellow, pink or red, leaves in shades of green, you need to pick out the yellow, red or pink or green for the toss pillows. Then you can use the same color with different shades, for plates and napkins.

Be sure to avoid tropical prints or you lose the cottage look. And remember that yellow, pink, red colors are typical cottage colors.

For the floor, if the patio is covered, a braided rug or a hooked rug with flower motifs, will give a cottage look.

If it needs to be a weather resistant floor covering, you might still find a hooked rug that you can use. Otherwise a very simple geometric in greens and yellows, or several shades of green will help maintain or at least not destroy the cottage effect you want to achieve.
