just a little bit of info....you may have a difficult time finding teak furniture ,as of last year the asian and indonesian goverments put a moratoeiaum on how much teak can be exported. it seems that teak was so popular that it was becoming a little endangered,so the limited its use and export. I have a friend who is an engineer in thailand and this is what he told me ,because I also had a hard time finding teak furniture.

My bedroom furniture is wood, painted black, and the dresser and nightstand have a light cherry stain on the tops. The pieces are fifteen years old, but high quality and in great shape. Everything just needs a little cosmetic work. Do I need to actually refinish the pieces? If not, what can I use to clean the painted surfaces and the stained wood? I'd like to get the furniture to look as new as possible!
I have never done anything other than wipe them down with a cloth, and I am definitely a novice at any refinishing (or anything DIY in general).
Any answers are much appreciated!
If you want restore the natural wood look you have to refinish it. I refinished my stairs with Citris Orange Paint Remover. You let it set and it bubbles the paint. Then you scrape off paint and lightly sand then polyurethane it. Or you could contact your local antique dealer and ask them. What would be the best way to touch up the furniture. Could be something simple. If it has a dull look and you haven't tried Murphy's Oil Soap.
Each riser has a 3" diameter "well" to cradle round legs or casters
Set of four wood bed risers--Mahogany finish, Nicely weighted, solid wood
Fits casters up to 3" in diameter, and square or round bed posts up to 4.5"
I'm getting ready to finish an old outdoor glider/bench. The wood is VERY dry. Should I rub this down with some kind of furniture oil before trying to stain it? The wood is so dry it is starting to crack a little in some places, and the surfaces are kind of textured.
Order of task.
1. Sand and fill/repair as necessary
2. Stain
3. Oil or apply other protective coat

I've used Pledge and some other brands of wood cleaner. After a day or so my wood furniture always looks like there are slick spots. Some areas look dry and others look like there is a concentration of oil sitting on top. I always make sure to use two different cloths while polishing, one to apply the polish, one to buff the furniture clean. What am I doing wrong or should I use a better polish?
I do not like Pledge. It contains silicone oil that once you have it, you never get rid of it. It causes severe problems (fish-eye) for repair and refinishing. Over time, it builds up because it is inert and does not evaporate away. It can also grab onto soil and keep it in the oil. I have some silicone removal cloths and they can come up black in just a square foot or so of chronically Pledge-cleaned furniture.
A better polish is an emulsion polish like Guardsman, OZ, or Endust. These will be milky white.
When I dust my furniture with spray wax, the stuff in a can, is it simply getting up the dust and making it glossy or is it also somehow moisturizing and protecting the wood??? Thanks.
The spray stuff is not particularly good for furniture and most fine furniture manufactures do not recommend it's use. They have silicones for shine and not much wood "nourishment or protection"
