How can I stop the sun from bleaching my patio set cushions?

Is there some kind of product you can put on your patio set cushions to stop the sun from ruining the color on them? I'm dying for a simple fix (ie Scotchgard for spills). Thanks for any help.


I think we are all waiting for a product such as you describe but for now I think your choices are to cover them or move them inside when they aren't in use. When even the toughest and most durable finishes such as acrylics and urethane's fade after being in prolonged sun, your fabric colors don't stand much of a chance.

I am looking for a deck box big enough to hold 6 cushions from a patio set?

Doesn anyone know if they make something bigger that 60x25.7x27.6in? I have a XL deck box from Rubbermaid but its too small. If there is a bigger one made, where can I purchase it?


Most seem to not have the size your after, you may have to have it hand made from wood

I would suggest contacting Target. They should be able to provide the company's phone number or website information. Good luck - I know it is difficult finding replacement parts!

What to do about patio cushions and rain?

First time homeowner and first time with a real patio. I was graciously given a patio set with chairs, etc. and they have cushions that are not waterproof. Short of taking them inside or covering them every time it rains, are there any other alternatives? Such as something I can spray on them to waterproof them? Thanks!


You could buy a storage cabinet or box to put them in between uses.

how do we get a cat to stop sleeping on the patio set?

our neighbor's cat hangs out in our yard because my mom keeps feeding it. But it sleeps on the table, under the table, over the cushions... and it gets covered in fur!
My mom still likes that cat, but is there anyway to train him to not sleep on the patio set?
poo ?: i'm allergic to cat hair, i don't want cat hair with my food, and it looks unpretty on the patio set.... i think i'm being quite reasonable here


A cat will do what a cat wants to do. If it knows it is not supposed to be on the furniture, then it might stay off... while you're around anyway. But if no one is there it will go back to doing what it feels like. Cats believe they rule the World, LOL!
