I have a bond and recently they found some activity in one of the outdoor baiting stations. They said it was nothing to worry about. Lately I have noticed termites around the light on my back patio. There are lots of them on my back table and on the ground but no trails or holes that I notice. Please help. I just bought the house a few months ago. It had previous termite issues but they were repaired, treated, etc. and the bond is supposed to be a good one. I live in Mobile, Alabama.

I would contact the company that did the previous work and have them check out the termites. There should not be termites visible near your house. The company should have given some sort of warranty. Start with them.

Dalmations are not meant to be outside dogs, even with adequate shelter. They have the wrong type of coat for it and are often senstitive to the sun. You are better off crate training him inside when you are gone, just make sure he gets plenty of exercise when you get home.

We are looking for the most cost effective way to build a patio outside of our walkout basement. We live in Ohio, so snow is an issue. Can we use ceramic tile? Any other options besides pavers?

I'm only going to give a partial answer, in that if you use ceramic tile, make sure it is rated for outdoor use in freezing temperatures. Not all tile is impervious to moisture, so it may crack when you've got snow on the ground.

You can get a bistro set - table and two chairs for around $100 at most stores or online. You can also get a gas grill for around $100 if that's something you would use. Plants look nice. You can buy flower pots pre-planted at home improvement stores or target/wal-mart. I am working on the same thing for my lonely patio.

I know it's very expensive to redo a deck but I need a simple 150-200 sq ft patio where I can place 2 chairs and a table, maybe a hammock. I really love the outdoor stones but it gets so expensive to build with them, so I wanted to stick to a small budget. Can I use 20in tiles that are normally used for large living rooms or bigger bathrooms for outdoor patio (I can get them at a good price)? If so, what would the process of installing them be and the best stone steal to use?

There are a few factors to deal with before any one can answer you properly.. Are the tiles frost proof? Do you live in a non freezing climate? On what substrate you going to install them? I ll assume cement but you didn t say.
You said tiles but you mentioned about sealing them, which isn t needed since they are tile , now in they are stone meant for indoor use , you can use hem out side if you live where it my freeze. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there.. GL
