it has already been stained but is in desperate need of re-staining because of weather damage and art project damage (...haha oops!). it's outdoor patio furniture, not sure what kind of wood. what kind of supplies do i need to take on this project and can i do it inexpensively while still making the furniture look in good quality?

You definately need to sand it down, especially any darkly stained or damaged areas. If you want to go with a darker color stain than the one that is on there, then you will not have to sand as much. If you want to go with a lighter stain than you will need to sand down to almost bare wood. Make sure to use an exterior stain and exterior polyurethane (spar is my favorite exterior poly). You can use interior products but they will fade and wear down much faster. Make sure when polyurethaning that you sand lightly between each coat as this will leave a glass-like finish. You'd most likely be dealing w/ customer complaints and/or questions. Taking calls, answering questions, troubleshooting assembly issues possibly. Just my thoughts.

Target still carries the furniture, but does not sell the cushions separately It is a conversation set and the cushions are 24"x27". The only cushions they sell are 21"x23". I have spoken to "Guest Relations" who referred me to the manufacturer, who told me they do not supply separate cushions and referred me to "Pier One Imports" or "Sears". Both did not have anything the size I need. Called Target "Guest Relations" again, and basically got the answer......too bad. I'm not so well off I can spend $700.00 on patio furniture every 18 monts.....Any suggestions???

Looking at these prices they appear to be what you would pay in store.

I ran into something similar with a bench cushion.
I ended up doing my own.

You might try upholstery fabric spray paints.

I recently moved to The Woodlands, TX. With hurricane Ike on its way I'm just curious about what I should do to prepare. I already went to the grocery store and stocked up on water, canned foods, batteries, etc. I also got out some camping supplies like flashlights, propane stove, ice chest, first aid kits. I put all of our patio furniture inside the garage. Since my garage is full of moving boxes, i parked my cars in a line against my house so if a tree falls the house blocks it from hitting the cars. Any other suggestions?

It sounds like you're already prepared, very good job! If my power goes out I'm just living off of pb sandwiches lol. If you have candles, I would go ahead and place them strategically around your house so you can just go through and light them up. I just went to the dollar store and got 16 votives, 6 holders, 4 lighters, batteries and a long lighter for only $10.

Set of patio furniture (for people who come to visit)
Plants (must be animal safe)

The shelter used to have a nice website, I am working on rebuilding a new site. You can still access the old site on PetFinder.com which only allows NON-PROFIT shelters to join and requires a copy of the 501 (c) (3) documents.
