My family (parents, cousins, uncles, etc) always give clothes or electronics on Christmas. Should I break the family tradition and give someone a bench for their patio? The bench is sold disassembled in a box, so I can wrap it and put it by the tree.
Yes, but only if they are handy about putting things together. Those benches aren't very complicated, but if they know nothing...it could be a problem. Perhaps help them to put it together?

we have a concrete patio with a roof. we would like to install deck rails to enclose the whole thing. this will be simple since we can attach them to the roof support poles. But, we would like to build in deck benches to the rails around the patio. Shouldn't there be some more security to the benches then other than the rails being attached to the roof poles/house? should we attach the deck benches into the concrete patio at certain points? how would we do that?
Contact your local hardware store etc.. You can use concrete anchors to secure them to the concrete patio. They are fairly easy to install.

I have a bench which i have just made and would like to know how to do this.
Use some sturdy angle brackets and screw tightly to the bench,then use 1/4 or 3/8 inch concrete anchor bolts.You may need a hammer drill. Depending on the concrete you might get by with good drill and percussion/concrete bit.If your short on space you can mark out the angle brackets and fasten those down first then screw them to the bench,just make sure their in the correct spot.Good Luck

I got a really nice outdoor patio set (3 wooden high-back chairs and 1 high-back bench) from my aunt who was getting rid of them. The only thing I need are cushions...but Im on a pretty tight budget and everywhere Ive looked the prices seem pretty steep. Are there any places that sell all weather-cushions that are reasonably cheap (but at the same time not cheaply made)?
