I recently moved into my first house and the previous owner had lots of high maintenance vegetation. I'd like to spend time cultiuvating a produce garden and not really worrying about flowers etc but I would like some things to spruce up the yard. What are some examples of plants that need little to no care once placed in the ground that can liven up my yard a bit?

-Also, I've been told that plants native to my area are easier so just for your information: I'm in Southeast Tennessee.

Saw them on a show called Room to Grow. They look like plant pots, made out of metal or similar. Top has a place to insert citronella gel or citronella can and burn a flame. Anyone know where to buy online?

I asked thas already but need more ideas. I have a very small front yard (not really a yard ) so a grave yard won't work out.I know I am doin a goast out of white trash bag and hanging it in the walk way of our front door. I have NO trees in the front either. I need these ideas to be things I can make with my 3 and 5 yr old. Thanx for any ideas.

Take 4 wooden stakes and put a large styrofoam ball on the top, cover with a white sheet and ties, then they kids can draw faces on them and then put them in a circle for a ghostly ring around the rosie!

My neighbor "says" she is religious (I never see her or her family attending church). She doesn't believe the names witch, ghost, gobblins, monster, ghouls should be put up anywhere for kids to see. Nor does she believe any pictures depicting happy and friendly kinds of these same things should be in the yards. She went by one of my friendly pumpkin signs with the word witch on it and shook her head and rolled her eyes like I was a freak. What do you think?

I think she has some restrictive clothing on too tight and it is cutting off blood circulation to her head. Let her keep rolling her eyes, don't worry (as hard as it might be) about what thought patterns are scraping through her grey matter.

I would watch with the church attendance though, you can't be sure that she doesn't attend church if you don't see her leave on Sunday morning. Saturday night and Sunday night are also active nights for services.

I want to buy probably on ebay some outdoor inflatables, I got 2 great used ones last year on ebay so I know how they work and all, but I am trying to price them. I know Gemmy is a great brand and many< I think, have tried to copy them. I don't have to have top notch, but I do want ones that will hold up from year to year. Is Airblown a different company and are they good and tell me what other companies are good or bad or ?? I dont have a lot to spend, but love to cheer up the yard for the neighborhood kids, not to keep up with the Jones, so update this Grandma aged 56 OK ? thanks

Whatever you do, don't buy the brand they are selling at Big Lots which I think is their own brand. They are much cheaper than you will see either on ebay or even at WalMart, but they are a huge pain in the butt. Several of our neighbors bought them and it is a constant struggle to keep them inflated. They work for a couple of days and then you see them all slumped in a heap. One is a snow globe, one is a santa and sleigh (on the roof yet!) and one is a snow man with a large top hat. We get a lot of wind through our canyon and that seems to batter them around more than they are meant to withstand.
