I work in Southern California (San Diego) and right next to my desk is a giant patio. My co-worker went on the patio, brought in the giant crank-umbrella used for the table, and started to gently slide my personal effects around on my desk.

He also very gently brushed by my ear which induced an itch.

What should I do?

Be polite and professional but ask this said "co-worker" to please put the patio umbrella back outside as it is "annoying" you and has no place in the office. If this does not work, then report him to an office manager.
I hate to admit it, but this is one of the "worst" and "most obtrusive" cases of office equipment abuse I've ever heard of!!!

You can go to a number of stores, like Target,
(as suggested) and K-mart, which carries that
brand, and Harbor Freight Tools just had them
(and I believe, still do) on sale, in different
sizes and styles. (six foot, or nine foot,etc.)

I'm sorta looking for the item Table Umbrella and/or Outdoor Bench. I cant seem to find either!:( Is anyone selling a cheapish one(of them either one) or know where to get either one? I am DYING for a Table Umbrella. My username is Lilster714. My yard sale isnt that good right now, but I tried to make things as cheap as I thought I could.

I think that those items are supposed to be in the Furniture Store or possibly the Hardware Store (less likely) but they may be gone because summer is over. Some items are year-round, others are seasonal. Maybe you can try some yardsales. Good Luck

It is the kind you put an umbrella through. I put the umbrella in, but the rest is still outside....we are supposed to get 6" of snow today....should I bring it inside in the basement?

It doesn't matter. I had one like that, and we left it out all winter and nothing happened to it, so it should be fine outside.
