Outdoor sectional couch - by Ben Robinson | LumberJocks.com ...

I built this outdoor sectional so my wife could take naps on the back porch while I go about my projects. The goal was to make something comfortable and modular with a clean, modern, almost industrial design. It also needed to seat a lot of people and stand up to the elements.

I didn’t have the budget for ipe wood, so I went with pressure-treated dimensional lumber. The main couch has an 8 foot seating area and the side bench is 4 feet wide. The back rest on the side bench is an extension of the main couch’s arm rest. It seats 5 adults comfortably when pushed into an “L” and 7 when separated.

I’m hesitant to post this, because there is such fine work here on lumberjocks. Please go easy on me … I realize this isn’t the most awesome display of craftsmanship. I’m just getting started and don’t have too many tools yet.
