Please suggest plaster/cement compound to create an outdoor mosiac table. Have a rot iron patio table would like to make into mosiac. Thanks.

IF for outside, purchase: Thin set mortar, enough tile board (cement, 1/2" thick) to cover twice...hopefully without seams. (comes 3'X5' pieces). Cut and shape one layer of tile board to table top, wire in place with heavy wire to wrought iron table. (You can use construction cement on the table where applicable before wiring to table...make sure you have hosed down the board to get rid of dust, then dry completely). Mix up some thin set and apply a 2nd layer of tile board. You are now ready to apply mosaic tile...cut, fit, set in thin set. The edges will be the hardest, if you do not use preformed counter edging. Once fully set (about 2-3 days,) grout, wipe, and you are finished. Do not try to lay anything over plywood of any kind for outdoors...it will not stand up over time. Remember, the "backer board" is not that durable to lifting by its edges, so take care. Use a glass cutter to score and break the ceramic tile to fit. Good luck. Goldwing

I work in Southern California (San Diego) and right next to my desk is a giant patio. My co-worker went on the patio, brought in the giant crank-umbrella used for the table, and started to gently slide my personal effects around on my desk.

He also very gently brushed by my ear which induced an itch.

What should I do?

Be polite and professional but ask this said "co-worker" to please put the patio umbrella back outside as it is "annoying" you and has no place in the office. If this does not work, then report him to an office manager.
I hate to admit it, but this is one of the "worst" and "most obtrusive" cases of office equipment abuse I've ever heard of!!!

You can go to a number of stores, like Target,

I've been offered the three slabs of slate from an old pool table for FREE and the person suggested it could be used for an outdoor patio. My question is, will the slate hold up outdoors, or is it the porous kind that will crumble when exposed to rain?

The slate I had in my pool table would make real nice tables. I would think they would be perfect for some kind of project.

I'm looking for outdoor patio or coffee tables for a restaurant, preferably plastic or fiberglass. I need something fairly heavy duty, preferably with a spot for an umbrella for shade. The style outside of In-n-outs is what we're looking for, but preferably a lighter material. Where would I go about finding furniture like this? All help is greatly appreciated!
