What is the best restaurant to eat at (outdoor patio) while watching the Bellagio fountain show ?

I am going to be in Vegas for a couple of hours with my girlfriend and we agreed that we'd love to grab a bite to eat and watch the Bellagio fountain show. Since our time is limited I figured we could do both at once. It's been a while since I have been to vegas, but I remember some good inexpensive restaurants that had outdoor patios and were right across the street from the Bellagio show. Does anybody know if there are any and there names? Thanks

At the Bellagio:

Try the Fontana Bar patio. They are RIGHT on the edge of the fountain and ideal for watching the waterworks. They serve cocktails and "lighter fare." If you don't want to spend too much and don't need a big meal, this is the perfect spot. We had champagne and chocolate-dipped strawberries. Okay, a little cliche, but it was fun.

As for Olives, the food is good, but it's pretty expensive. Make sure you make reservations and check out the menu so you don't get an unpleasant surprise.

You can watch from across the street at the outdoor patio of the first floor restaurant, Mon Ami Gabi. It's a fun place. Not cheap but not outrageous for the "New Vegas."

Still, there's no question that the best view is from the Fontana.

One thing to consider...I don't know when you're going, but make sure you keep in mind the Vegas heat. If I recall, they had light misters or something to cool the patio of the Fontana but I can't swear to it. In any case, just sitting outdoors can be absolutely unbearable in the summer heat.

do outdoor fountains require water chemicals like swimming pools?

my fountain in my patio gets tons of debri and now the water is very murky...should I put in pool chemicals to avoid this? and the pump gets blocked up at least once a week any suggestions?

Hi, I have a pond and use a biological filer system to keep my very fat 14 goldfish swimming though clear water but have bought an algae clear product before and then didn't use it because it was really listed for fountains. I bought that product in Wal-marts garden department by the pond pumps not in the aquarium section. There is a algae destroyer that is safe for fish called, what else but AlgaeFix. You do have to be careful with some of these products if you have pets drinking out of the pond or fountain. But you really have to remove the debris to keep it clear. The debris and the sun light will cause the murkiness/algae.

Why is our fountain so noisy?

We purchased a fountain that looks very similar to this one, EXCEPT it has two bowls above the large retangular shaped basin below (three water bowls in all), AND the water flows from a sort of faucet (about 1 inch in diameter). Our fountain looks like this one proportionately, but ours is considerably larger, about 5 ft tall and 40 inches wide. The base bowl is about 18 inches deep.

The instructions call for a minimum 170 GPH pump, but the only one we could find at the time was 240 GPH.

Now we have installed the fountain and it looks lovely, but the water flowing into the bowls is anything but relaxing. It reminds me of the sound of a bathtub filling, or a garden faucet left on full force.

We want to try to mitigate the sound by adding some small cobbles to the bowls, but preliminary trials with a few cobbles don't show much change. I feel like the problem is that the water is just flowing WAY too fast, or way too strong. Is it possible that a 240 GPH pump is too much for a fountain that recommends no less than 170 GPH? Is it feasible that 70 GPH would make that much difference? Could the wide diameter flow tube (faucet) cause this?

I wanted a slow-flowing fountain with a delicate sound. This fountain did not sound this loud at the store display, but there were many working at the same time in a large outdoor patio garden section, so perhaps I didn't realize it's sound level.

Any experienced ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.

if your fountain doesn't have a regulator to slow the flow, try this....rig up something to squeeze the tubing from the pump to the 'faucet' to slow down the water some.... if that improves the sound, then you'll either need to make that permanent or get a new pump, a smaller gph one..... note that impedement of the flow can cause the pump to burn out sooner.... but it's a way to test to see if it's actually going to make a difference to you if it's less flow and less 'noisy' to your ears....

if you're not happy with it, can you not return it and get another?....

How to keep dog from lifting leg on outdoor furniture?

We have a male and female dog and our male is not neutered because we breed/show. He's a great dog, but when he goes outside he urinates on anything, including our outdoor furniture, fountains, planters, etc. Is there anything we can spray on certain items in particular that will keep him away from the more expensive and undesirable items for him to urinate on? I don't mind if he lifts his leg on a tree or shrub, but the outdoor furniture etc. is a problem as we also like to entertain. We can't fence off the area because our entertainment/patio area is too large. Any ideas? Thanks.

they have a spray for that, also invisible fencing for dogs also does furniture. See web site, also saw it sold at costco in Canada.

  • The Trunk Outdoor Patio Fountain

Are great water features to compliment your outdoor living space.  It has good size to make a statement but doesn't command the entire setting.  Dimensions are 51"H x 42"W x 42"D.  It comes in various shades to match the look and feel our your garden or patio.  I love the subtle texture and the water action as it flows down the water feature.  It is made of glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) to outlast traditional cast stone at a substantial weight savings.  Great choice!

Indoor Fountains: The Outdoors are Now Indoors

Of the numerous human efforts to replicate nature and introduce it into suburban surroundings where we dwell, indoor fountains are probably the closest to perfection. While the effort involved, the artistic bent of mind and skill of craftsmanship necessary are essentially human traits, the elements that are tapped into that give it a specific function and use are very much natural.

The predominant element of course, is water. Water's ability to absorb ambient noise and fill it with a tinkling that is constant yet pleasing to the ears is unique. Water also acts as a humidifier by adding moisture to the air around, when the fountain coverts it into mist. So despite air conditioning, you do not suffer from a dry nose or itchy eyes, and it feels like you are in the middle of a forest or garden, or in other words, outdoors.
