I had the front done in a French Classic style and I like it very much. But I've been told by the local patio and outdoor decor company that I need to "spruce" it up a bit. Add a little color. I rather like pink flamingos (they remind me of my time in Africa) but I am also concerned if they will actually add any value. I would need about 250 of them to make a statement, as was suggested by the salesman.

My other concern is if they would attract the local hunters. I dare say, many of them don't seem the sober type.

personally i would prefer to see (many)painted wooden cut outs of various disney creatures strategically placed throughout the yard. a few flamingos wouldnt hurt though (i guess).
how about one of those inside-out tire planters as well...plastic flowers inside would add perky color year round.

at night, a solar cross or two would add a lovely element as well.

I don't live in that big of a city, and I'm not sure how to have a "garage" sale because I live in an apartment and it's 115 degrees out, which means no one wants to go to a garage sale. What do you suggest? I have to sell things like, couches, futons, TVs, tv stands, decor, Tables, chairs, a bike, outdoor patio stuff, etc.

5 choices I think, ebay (include the pick up area in the listing description to avoid many emails asking where pick up is from) garage sale, print out fliers to put on community notice boards, advertise in local paper or send the stuff to charity.

Can understand why you don't want to garage sale, I have done many and they take work and you may end up with half the stuff still there.

You'd most likely be dealing w/ customer complaints and/or questions. Taking calls, answering questions, troubleshooting assembly issues possibly. Just my thoughts.

The area is long and narrow, 8 feet by 23 feet. The long front is screened; the two end walls are beige stucco, like house. Ceiling is white. I'm getting a ceiling fan. I have green indoor-outdoor carpet, a bit worn, but okay.
There's a white plastic chaise lounge with green striped cushion and a white plastic table with four chairs. I have place mats and silk tulips on the table. There's one small white plastic table.

I don't love the white plastic patio furniture, but it's all I can afford right now. I want to accessorize and add some wall decor to the stucco, if possible. But what?

I don't have a green thumb, and I live in Florida. I will add some plants and flowers, but need suggestions.

It's hot and humid here. Fabrics fade and mildew. During certain seasons, yellow pollen lies thick as powder over everything. So I have to be practical.

It doesn't have to look like Martha Stewart dropped by, but I do need practical, inexpensive suggestions. Ideas, please!!

Pick a color and stick to it for flowers and other accessories. Add candles in varying heights to the tables. Hang pictures if you like or baskets with plants. You can buy a couple of the 'basket weave' metal trash cans for around $3.00 each. line them with peat moss and add a tall green plant. Put one on either side of the door.

Add a small throw pillow to the chaise lounge.
You can paint the chairs and tables for just a few bucks if you want a change. (dark forest green?)

Add a cheap rug (sisal), a bowl of fruit (oranges - as orange would be a great accent color for your area), a couple of flowering plants (orange inpatients?) , a table cloth in a tropical print of green, orange, yellow, white, and you have a whole new look.

Shop thrift stores and yard sales.

My fiance and I are very modern, more rock n roll than laid back beach-y vibe. Don't get me wrong, I love the beach but can't find colors that I'm comfortable with. Both of our favorite color is black. I want an elegant affair with the sea as a backdrop. The ceremony will be in a chapel and the reception in an outdoor restaurant patio that's right at the edge of the sea. Would a pretty formal black and white theme with silver accents work? I'm thinking of using silver swarovski encrusted starfish as accents and all white flowers for decor. Oh and my dress is ivory with a black ribbon and black buttons down the back. Am I crazy? Do I need to lose the black?

As long as the dress isn't just black or black with a bit of white. But it sounds elegant enough as long as you don't go for spray painted silver tat.
