I have just recently buried my husband at Queen of Heaven outdoor garden mausoleum and I noticed in the bench where they put flowers there were some planters with the persons picture and dates of birth and death, but I do not know where to get this. The person at the cemetary said that a lot were home made or by a monument place but I thought someone would know. I have an idea but I want to know where to go to get the photo encased so I can glue on my outdoor planter

Try a local college, students are always in need of cash. Get in contact with the art professor, he/she will spread the word for you and you will have a one of a kind piece.

I am sorry to hear about the passing of your husband.

I had a picture of my daughter put on her marker.
I had ordered it at the Cemetery and the put it on themselves.

yes...you could put together a table with a large garden urn with a sheet of tempered glass. This makes a nice "coffee table" for an informal seating area in your garden.

I am going to cut down a Rhododendron tree in the garden and would like to re-use the wood in the garden (e.g. garden chairs, table, bench, etc.)

What seasoning / treatment / etc do I need to carry out on the wood after cutting so that it will not rot or degrade once I have made into garden furniture?

cut it into the sections you want, melt some wax and dip the ends and store in a cool dry place for about a year, this prevents checking (cracks) then bark the wood and put together whatever your building and spray or paint on a good wood sealer clear or colored or you could stain it then seal it... good luck...

Ive just brought a house with a garden (never had one before - hense the question!), I have a small patch in the corner that doesn't get any sunlight, and as a result the grass has almost disappeared.
I want to put a bench there and some shingle, however I wouldnt mind having a few large pot plants there also, is there any that can survive without sunlight?

If you're looking for vegetables or fruits there are shade tolerant fruits and vegetables. However, be aware that reduction in light will also reduce the amount of fruits and vegetables produced.

GREENS:
