I am a 15 year old girl, and live on a lake house. I would love to build (by myself) a small outdoor chair. The only wood that we have is round, but from a few trees which have been cutdown. They are about 18-20 inches long, and 4-6 inches wide.

I would love to make this to make my own little 'spot' by the water, complete with some flowers. I'm not sure how much wood I have, but any plan would be great. Of course it would be awesome if it isnt too hard, because I AM only 15. I have open-access to power tools and nails, etc.
Just as a note, I did find some plywood (2 shoulder lengths long, 1 shoulder length wide.)

And a few other pieces of loooong lumber.

Take a tape measure and measure what you have. Send me an email and I will try to draw up a plan.....But just to let you know...firewood and plywood will have wood splinters.....Ouch!!!

Maybe you could just outfit your special hid away with an old lawn chair....It wont rot and no splinters...And you can fold it up and hide it under some brush....

My outdoor table and chair set was given to me about 2-3 years ago and the cushions were previously painted bright blue with some kind of weather-resistance paint. The paint is starting to wear off, but the cushions are still in very good condition. I want to re-paint the cushions, but don't know what product was used before. The lady that painted them before has since passed away, so I can't ask her. I have looked at craft stores, but haven't found any fabric paint that is specifically weather-resistant. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

Acrylic craft paints such as Patio Paint should do the job. Also, regular acrylic craft paints are very weather/fade resistant. I painted a foam flower pot several years ago and it still looks great. You can get both of these at craft stores.

We bought an outdoor setting a few years back and made the mistake of not taking the padded chair covers inside at night time. Although they've been under cover, they have been left outside heaps and now look really dirty and mildewy looking. I've tried bleach, pine-o-clean etc. I think I even tried water & vinegar last year then left them in the sun but nothing appears to work. Would love some suggestions!

For the mildew, I use DampRid mold and mildew remover and protectorant for fabrics which can be found on the cleaning aisle at Lowes home improvement center. I like it because not only will it remove the mildew and its spores but it keeps it from growing back, too. My outdoor living room furniture has cushions that get hit by the automatic sprinklers and would mildew if I didn't use it at the beginning of every season. To do general cushion cleaning, I use Folex upholstery cleaner and it does a great job of removing outdoor dirt and dust. I also spray my outdoor furniture cushions with scotch guard at the beginning of every season to protect them from food, beverage and general stains. It really does help keep them looking new longer and stains just bubble up on the surface making it easier to wipe away.

This chair is on the playground outside of the treehouse. It is shaped like an "s", so that when 2 people sit in it, they are side by side, but facing in opposite directions. What makes it really cool, is that is also spins! I have no clue what this chair is called. I hope someone can help!
