HI everybody i really need help to stop my dog from eating my wooden garden furniture hes a 1 yr old?
april 2012, wallpaper calendar

english mastiff ive tried spraying deep heat on it but its not working he is probably still teathing its areal problem please help

I'm not sure what deep heat is, but you should spray the furniture with Bitter Apple, and then to make sure he doesn't just get used to it (some dogs can develop a taste for it), spray the Bitter Apple directly on his tongue just once so it's a really bad memory. Sounds mean, but it honestly won't hurt him, and it will keep him safe from eating hunks of wood, which is dangerous.

In addition if he is teething, you need to get him some thing he IS allowed to chew - the best thing for teething babies is a nylarope soaked in water and frozen. Also, a big red Kong with something good in it, like his kibble soaked and frozen in there, too. Keep him supplied with one good thing for asl ong as he is out with the furniture, and make sure he is chewing the appropriate thing.

Don't give him anything too hard, like real bones or adult hardness Nylabones - they'll break his teeth-, and don't give him any of the edible chew treats - they break into hunks, and get stuck in their GI tract. Just soft Kong toys that are big, and maybe a Dentabone toy.

Hope this helps!

How to renovate garden furniture.?
Take a seat

What is the best way you found to renovate old garden furhiture?
Sorry how dum of me, it is wooden furniture that has been treated previously but all the treatment is peeling off.

If the old treatment is peeling then it sounds like someone used varnish on it. Avoid this at all costs when you re-treat it! The first thing you will have to do is sand it down to remove all the loose flakes and also any shine left on from the old treatment. Once you have done this dab some turps or white spirit on a cloth and wipe down all the surfaces. This will remove any excess dust from the sanding down and give a nice clean surface for the new treatment to adhere to. When you get a new treatment make sure that it is an exterior woodstain preferably one that is specifically made for garden furniture. When you paint the furniture again make sure you give it at least 2/3 coats. Firstly, this will ensure it is well protected, but it will also give you a good rich, deep colour. Use a very fine sand paper and LIGHTLY sand down the table between coats. Let each coat dry, sand down and then wipe down with white spirit again before applying the next coat. As mentioned previously make sure you give legs a good coat on the ends either by giving them a few extra coats on the end grain or by soaking them. My only reservation with soaking them is that there is a tendancy for the leg to absorb so much stain that the legs become a different colour to the rest of the item of furniture. Good Luck!!

Repainting aluminium garden furniture. Advice required.?
legendary, bikaner

Have some old cast aluminium garden furniture, paint peeling off, white powdery 'salts' underneath. Some of the paint scrapes easily and other places seem well stuck. Do I need to remove it all? How shall I treat the 'salts'. With acid? What is the best type of paint to use for repainting.
Thanks.

Not sure if this would be the same but I painted my aluminum siding. I used a detergent called "TSP". It comes in powder or liquid form. With previously painted aluminum you need to get the gloss and chalking substance off. The powder form needs to be mixed with water. Just spray it on and let is sit for a few minutes. After that just wash off. In your case make sure you get all of the old paint off. I would use sand paper to rough up the aluminum. After that it should be acid etched. This will help the paint stick. Use a epoxy based primer. After that I would just use a outdoor spray paint. I just found a link on how to repaint aluminum......

Our rottie ate one of our palm trees. We just came home one day and it was gone. Then the next day he yelped while trying to poo and started chasing his nubby tail and crying. We then noticed a palm leaf coming out his butt. My husband had to "help" him by gently pulling the palm frond out his butt. Did he learn a lesson? Hell no. A couple of months later another little palm tree disappeared..........................

Know any good furniture and gardening shops in Tooting?
Outdoor restaurant

Hi,

We're about to move to Tooting and I'll need to buy some furniture and a trellis for the garden. As money is tight, I wondered if anyone knew of any good shops that sell old furniture - such as charity shops?

I'm also looking for a gardening shop in or around Tooting as we need to buy a trellis to seperate our garden from the upstairs neighbours garden.

Thanks,
Miche

  • What is Home and Garden Furniture? | Home Improvement Made Easy

Home and garden furniture is furniture that can be used inside as well as outdoors. Some people have opted to enclose a large patio in glass or screen, carpet the floor with indoor/outdoor carpeting, furnish with a fireplace, and install ceiling fans along an air conditioner. The patio area can be adjacent to the house or separate. The plans of the room or structure can come equipped with a kitchen separate than that of the primary section of the house. This area would require home and garden furniture to furnish the surroundings. When looking for plants for this area, you would still opt for house plants but maybe that of the larger variety.

Home and garden furniture can be made from wicker and wood. Metal and plastic garden furniture can be used, but would probably be considered inappropriate to adorn this region of your home. You would want furniture that is not too elaborate, but on the other hand you don’t want the furniture ill-suited for the region either. You will want it to blend with the surroundings you have created. The enclosing of the back patio area convince visitors that this is just an extra room in the house. You will want the room to give off the look of casual comfort. A room in which to relax and have fun. Home and garden furniture fabricated from wicker have a classic appearance. The simplicity of the designs leans to the casual look of romantic, comfort. Since the home and garden furniture constructed of wicker is made for the outdoors, care and maintenance should be a much easier, simpler task. Consult your retailer for those requirements.
