How can I keep birds from pooping on my patio and lawn furniture?
Gazebo II

I have a nice patio and nice lawn furniture but everyday when I got out to sit, there is bird poop all over my patio. Any suggestions on keeping the birds away?

There really is no way to keep wild birds from flying where they choose, however, there are a few things you can do that will make your area less inviting to them. Keep bushes and tree's (places where they roost and hide) away from your patio. Decorative items that spin (the same effect as a scare crow blowing in the wind) makes them cautious and shy to go near. They have decorative wind socks, chimes, and those little spinning wheels that do the trick. Make sure there are no bird feeders or bird baths in the area as well. Hope this helps.

What is the difference between patio and lawn furniture?
Candy Bouncers Yarn Wreath

What is the origin of each term and why are both in use?

Patio furniture is expected to sit on a solid surface and thus may have smaller leg ends or be more upright like indoor furniture. Lawn furniture is expected to sit on grass and soil and thus has wider ends or tubes that run across the bottom. Lawn furniture is usually either heavier to keep it from blowing away and to withstand more weather or very light to ease picking it up, folding, and storage. Patio furniture is medium weight, heavy enough to stay in place, not as bulky to permit moving past it in the more restricted space of the patio.

will patio furniture kill your lawn?
Droog Outdoors

i would i be able to keep a canopy with patio furniture on my lawn without the grass dying? how well would the grass stand up to it? would watering my lawn ruin the patio furniture?

The shade from the canopy will keep the lawn from being as lush without the shade. Therefore any furniture and people's weight put on the weakened grass will weaken it even more.

Depends on what kind of patio furniture you get whether watering your lawn will ruin it. If rain will ruin it, watering your lawn will ruin it.

Damage to lawn from outdoor furniture?
Striped Patterns

My wife and I just completed a total remake of our backyard. We ripped out everything, regraded, then re-sodded the lawn. It looks amazing. Now we want to put a nice patio furniture set out there. The question is though, will putting that out on the lawn kill the grass. I expect that it would kill whatever grass is right under the legs of the various pieces of furniture. However I don't know what it might do to the grass that's under the table/couch/etc... but doesn't actually have anything pressing down on it.

sounds like you've been bizzy in answer to you question yes the grass under garden furniture would die but if you just move it around every couple of days then all will be well you only need to move it a little just so that the legs are not resting on the same spot but you will have to continue moving it because lack of light will kill grass move it up lawn and then when you run out of room move it back down the lawn again

How can I get mold out of lawn furniture?
Striped Patterns

I really prefer not to use bleach. Does anyone have a non-bleach method of getting mold off patio cushions? They are vinyl, not fabric. Thanks.
If mold doesn't grow outside, then I guess I'm asking for help removing whatever moldy-looking green substance is covering my lawn furniture.

Pressure washer will do the trick.
