I have searched all the DIY stores and garden centres. I know they are not the most fashionable, but I like them. I was after 3 or 4 white high back, reclining chairs. Any help would be really appreciated.

I believe there is a shortage as the producers of the chairs are having problems with their distributors. The van that they use has had a few problems and only has first gear working now. This limits them to local deliveries in the Frinton On Sea area. I saw a pair of white chairs go for well over £400 on eBay the other day, madness. My advice is to sit tight (no pun intended) till the vans fixed and the stocks are replenished. Hope that helps. Good luck with your quest

My mum has been given some plastic garden chairs but they are very badley stained. We have tried soapy water and things like Cillit Bang but to no effect. any Ideas?

Try using baking soda. We used it to clean the soot and smoke off of our stuff when soap and water wouldn't work. ( Baking soda was used to clean the Holland and Lincoln Tunnels going into Manhattan!)

It can be quite difficult for some people to use garden furniture/recliners/sun beds etc as they are so low.
Is it possible to buy ones with higher seats so less knee bendong required?

Yes you can as I also need to buy some for that very reason.
Unfortunately they are made of teak and very expensive.
A few years ago at a rumatologists he had garden chairs with high backs as well I just wish I knew where they came from.I wonder if they may have been sealy's

The folding chairs have become increasingly stiff & I'm pretty sure oil won't work!

Silicon spray or if you don't have any try furniture polish as this also contians silicon.

if so, what kind of paint will stay on the plastic, bearing in mind the chairs flex a bit when you sit on them.

Ken.. before you paint them, consider getting out some plastic polish. You can buy it at an auto-parts store or auto section of your favorite store... apply and remove with an orbital. That way you dont worry about cracking and pealing of paint. Go to Home Depot first... thats where I bought stock (lol)
