Are we allowed to burn wood in a fire pit (copper) in Colorado Springs on our deck?

We are interested in purchasing a fire pit with a new patio set, but don't know the regulations in Colorado Springs regarding burning wood in it.

I know in my town, a mesh covered fire pit or chimenea must be at minimum 5 feet from any structure and must not rest on a wood surface.

Portable Fire Pit in Apartment Patio?

Does anyone know the safety rules about having an outdoor fire pit/bowl in a backyard apartment patio? My genius new neighbor decides to light a fire in his backyard in a densely populated building. Smoke was filling the night sky and our apartment. When I asked him to stop he seemed dazed and obliged, but reluctantly. It's totally not the right setting to have a fire pit in and I am still in shock someone could be so stupid to light one up. Get this. The apartment manager gave the newbie tenant the fire pit. Do I call the fire department to issue a citation or take them both to court and sue for thousands for endangering mine and my family's life?


There were no actual damages, therefore nothing to sue for. I'll admit it was rather stupid. I teach 5th grade and something completely lacking in young adults is common sense. If it happens again call the police.

What are some good ideas for dates?

Me and my boyfriend are celebrating our 4 year anniversary. Were 16. He's coming over tomorrow...but I don't know what to do! I want something unique. I have a very nice fire pit in my backyard with a swing, a nice patio set, a beautiful big bedroom... but i dont know what to do. i dont know what to make us to eat either. this is the first time this has happened! i usually always know what to do. any ideas on gifts!?
