I have acquired a teak furniture set treated with deck stain. Looks terrible. Can I fix with oil?
Patio space too small?

I have a teak furniture set that was treated with some sort of deck stain/UV protectant. To me it looks terrible. Is the appearance permanently marred? Or will sanding and teak oil restore it to a more normal teak appearance?


Yes..Use a fine grade paper when working with the teak then use teak oil

Cast Iron deck furniture causes rust spots on pressure treated deck? What to do?

Kids bought a cast iron swing set and lawn chair for my deck. When precipitation accumulates in the pipe frames, it leaves rust under where the furniture sits. Is it possible to treat the insides of the pipes with something to stop that?
Can I treat the metal to cut down on the rust giveaway?


You can get rid of the rust stains with CLR or Lime-Away.

Will powder coated metal patio furniture scrape a painted pool deck?

When sliding the chairs in and out around the table, will the bottoms/legs scratch a painted concrete patio? We are going back and forth on whether or not to buy a new metal patio set and need to know from people who have this situation...ASAP!


Yes, the powder coating and the metal are both harder than the paint. You might be able to glue some kind of slider on the legs though.

Why is my gray composite decking turned tan where patio furniture sets?

Under the umbrella stand and uder the table legs have left tan looking spots.


Maybe it is slightly damp there, making it appear more tan; or it may be sun faded where the furniture hasn't been covering it.

Secure Patio Furniture?

I just bought a nice patio furniture set as a surprise for my boyfriend. He thinks someone is going to steal it (which is unlikely). Has anyone ever "locked" or secured their patio furniture to your deck? If so, how do you recommend doing so? Serious responses only please and thanks for your help!
I should also mention that we live in a condo in Chicago (South Loop area). He has me all paranoid now :)


I would probably use a "bike lock" type of device that can be wrapped around an area of the furniture and secured through the floor of the deck.
