When sliding the chairs in and out around the table, will the bottoms/legs scratch a painted concrete patio? We are going back and forth on whether or not to buy a new metal patio set and need to know from people who have this situation...ASAP!

Yes, the powder coating and the metal are both harder than the paint. You might be able to glue some kind of slider on the legs though.

habeñero sauce works ;) More practically, I wonder if it would work to put the stuff that they sometimes paint horse fences with to keep them from chewing it? You might could look into it. I don't know any brand names off the top of my head, since I don't have the problem :)

Hot Pepper Repellent Recipe
- One chopped yellow onion
- One chopped Jalapeno pepper
- One tablespoon of Cayenne pepper

Boil ingredients for 20 minutes in two quarts of water. Let it cool and then strain it through cheesecloth. You can apply this with a pesticide sprayer or a spray bottle.

This will deter just about any animal from an area where it is applied. The only draw back is that it only lasts for three to five days.



The "Magic" Formula
- 8 oz. of any liquid dish soap
- 8 oz. of Castor Oil
- 1 gallon of water

Mix the Castor Oil and soap well. Be sure that it is mixed thoroughly then add it to one gallon of water and spray the entire area.

This is a simple and safe recipe and is supposed to work very well for many mammals.


"Scarecrow"
This is a motion-activated water "sprinkler." It shoots a 3-second blast of water when motion is sensed. It uses 2 cups of water each time it sprays and has a daylight sensor. It is manufactured by Contech Electronics. Some local area garden and hardware stores carry it.

This works especially well for squirrels, raccoons, deer, etc.

I've noticed several times, bees "chewing" grooves on my cedar deck furniture. They slowly take the top layer off revealing a light brown trough down the weathered gray color my furniture has naturally taken on.

some bees chew holes in wood deep and deep enough to hide inside the wood get a wax spray that has chyanne pepper in it and spray a damp cloth to put on it bees wont chew peppers
