Chester is 14 years and is in good shape, and still the protects his territory in our yard, but lately have taken up to sitting in the wet grass and the concrete patio table. We have always said that Chester has more common sense that most people, but we are worried that his new habits might be harmful to him

He's a cat, they basically do whatever they want so sitting on the grass is not anything out of the norm and on the table too he probably likes the view he can have up there to watch over his territory. I don't see how his new habits would be harmful, the grass may be wet but getting a little wet never hurt anyone or any cat as well as sitting on the concrete table it's not going to harm him in any way, if he is uncomfortable he will not stay there then.

I have a new concrete patio that is large and surrounds a new addition we just put on. our home is red brick, the addition is in a neutral, and the patio is bare. I would like the addition to blend with the rest of the house and be an extension thereof. It is not covered. We also want the patio to reflect our cottage/comfy feel of the rest of our home that is decorated with neutral greens and beiges and a no-fuss feel. Any ideas? table/chairs/plants/outdoor rug? Help!
Lattice along the southern edge would look pretty with planter boxes on the inside of it and clematis growing on it or morning glories would look nice. The roots would be shaded in the box, but the plant would grow over and through the lattice to get the sun it needs. Also long wooden benches with planter boxes on the ends would be pretty along the edges. Those you can make yourself or buy already made. There is so much you do with this. An arched trellis in the middle leading to the yard with planter boxes on each side would look cool also. You could even do a whole row of those on the longest side of the patio or all around. Use the wood trellises in green or stained redwood instead of white plastic to keep with the cottage feeling.

My husband stained a table and negleted to lay down a cloth over the concrete..The stains have been on the concrete for about 6 months or so.

If the concrete was sealed when you finished putting it down, you should be able to use mineral spirits to remove the stain. If not, the stain would have immediately soaked into the concrete which is very porous and you're going to be stuck with it.
When sliding the chairs in and out around the table, will the bottoms/legs scratch a painted concrete patio? We are going back and forth on whether or not to buy a new metal patio set and need to know from people who have this situation...ASAP!
Yes, the powder coating and the metal are both harder than the paint. You might be able to glue some kind of slider on the legs though.
