I just bought a house and can't extend the patio yet. It is a very small patch of concrete, but the yard is huge. I'm in Oregon and it rains a lot. What kind of patio furniture other than a picnic table can I put on grass that would look kind of nice? I could do just a tiny 2 chair bistro set, but what about when there are a lot of people over? Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks!

Patio sets are meant to be outdoors whether on grass or a deck or patio. Sets are made of mostly aluminum these days but cast iron and wrought iron is available as well. You cannot ruin aluminum. We had a new home built and have not yet added our deck. Our aluminum table with six chairs works just fine on the grass until we do. The cushions and umbrella are all weather and sun resistant so we don't have to remove them during inclement weather. Because we are on grass we took the set in for the winter, but when we have the deck we will leave it out next winter. Patio set prices go from high to low. Check Home Depot and Lowes. They have many aluminum options.

anyone know of any places in las vegas or online that sell patio furniture mostly a bistro set all year round and not so expensive?

I want to get a bistro set for our front courtyard and I don't know which material to pick. I heard cast aluminum is rust resistant and lasts longer. However, I live in a very windy area, and I am afraid it won't be heavy enough. There's too much concrete going on in that area, so I don't want concrete furniture, either. Any opinions or suggestions?

Aluminium is much lighter than cast iron, but you would still need hurricane force winds to shift it. As long as the base of the table is as wide as the top, you shouldn't have any problem with the wind tipping it over. The aluminum is also much easier to move around for rearranging.

I recently purchased a dark wooden patio set, and unsure of how to maintain it. The wood was treated with linseed oil, now do I remove the linseed oil and and seal it with a product, or do I just leave it? I am not too sure if we'll be able to put the patio furniture away in the winter, so it might be stuck outside all winter! Also, i don't want the sun to strip to much of my colour, can anyone help? Just wanted to add, the furniture is not teak :( I wish I could afford that!

Dont remove the inseed oil! It will protect your setting from weather! Just re-oil it every season, it will bring the colour out and look like new each year. cheers :)
