These are from the Hampton Bay Calabria line from Home Depot. The chairs are made with a tubular (hollow) frame and sling fabric. We have an open backyard and only one place to put the patio set which is, unfortunately, on the windy side of the house. The rubber feet seem to be glued on or otherwise well attached; my first thought was to try to fill the legs of the chairs with something to add weight. There has to be an easier way to make these chairs sturdier...I'm tired of picking them up every day.

I need a paint that will hold up to chipping and fading in a wet climate for an outdoor aluminum patio table. I want it to match some chairs that were purchased from a different set.

Just purchased an aluminum patio dining set and wonder if anyone has suggestions on how to tie it down, or anchor it. Our area gets pretty windy and the aluminum is pretty lightweight. I want something that won't scratch it, and will keep it from blowing over or away. We were thinking something like pvc pipe, painted of course, because it would keep the chairs tight against each other..... any suggestions?

It gets windy where I am too. I have a swing to keep in my yard instead of in the next block. Garden stakes, they work wonders. Check at your local hardware store.

the best way is either to tie them all together when not using, or seal them to the floor.
My housemate has a set that she called painted wrought iron, but it is definitely not wrought iron. I looked up this set on the internet and found that the material is something called "wrought aluminum" - it is lighter weight and cheaper and flimsier and probably why it broke in the first place. She thinks it can be soldered to fix it, but I think it would not work well. I said I think you can solder on iron, but if it had been iron it probably wouldn't have broken in the first place. I think it is trash now but she thinks it is fixable and worth fixing. Who is right?
Wrought or rather cast aluminum can be heli-arc welded. Call a welding shop and ask if they do heli-arc welding
