I have a brand new garden furniture set bought this year and not used due to the weather! I covered it and yet now I see there is mould all over it and when I wiped it down there is marks and spots stained where the mould was... How can I get rid of or cover this?

tsp works good for mold and unlike bleach will not harm the wood or raise the grain too much.

Ok, so running about the garden the beach the street (joke) is all well and good when the sun is out. But how do you cope with life inside the house.

I mean if your sitting around on the furniture in this weather, doesnt all the sweat from your body effect the furniture?

God knows when i come in from the garden after laying out for a while i look and feel like a basted turkey (no, legs are not tied up - lol).

There must be a technique, or do you just carry a bath sheet?

Were having a bit of a storm here in Ireland. the wind is crazy. I live on higher ground and were getting it all. All the windows and doors are closed but every now and again the wind will blow so strong that doors will slam with the wind blowing through drafts. The garden furniture on the balcony is about to blow away!ahah! I heard they had to cancel the one and only bus route coming through where I live because the winds are too strong for the bus to be on the roads up here. Should pass by tomorrow though.

terrible, I even had a power cut, green bin blew over, one of the trellis fences has blown right out, I'm just back in and my car even seemed to be blowing off the road. It was glorious when I was walking the dog earlier today, but even she won't go out in it now.

I have a neighbour that is keeping their Springer Spaniel in their back garden all day (9hours) He was a rescue dog just skin and bone he was terrified of every noise, everyone & every animal. You can no longer see his ribs although still slim, still jumps at different sounds and he's just started to 'be my friend' as I go round and visit.
Scottish weather is never good but the temperatures recently are below freezing and are due to get worse and some days is just pores of rain all day, they say he has a kennel but the only thing I can see is his soaking wet bed and a little girls plastic play house???
I feel so sorry for him I just want to take him home and enjoy his days rather than jumping and running away from everything, the only thing I can think of is that he has chewed furniture or dirtied everywhere and they just couldn't handle coming into that sort of mess. Btw he's still a pup just over a year.

I just wondered what you thought of this situation and if you though RSPCA would be able to do anything about the matter?

I haven't made up my mind on wether to call RSPCA yet or just wait and see if this carries on and go to their door?
I contacted the SSPCA this morning and explained the situation and unfortunately they said it's ok to keep a dog outside as long as they're fed watered & sheltered :( I'm can't see the sense in this though as it's winter and the weather will only get worse. I'm going to call back and give the address so they can't go round and assess the area in which he is kept and give them some advice.

I have to say that some dogs totally refuse to be sensible and go into their kennel, even in the worst weather. However, if this poor dog doesn't even have a proper kennel (heating, deep litter etc.etc.) I'd say you should certainly phone the RSPCA. Although this can be done anonymously, be prepared for some reaction from your neighbour who will probably know where the complaint has come from. If you are going round to visit, it might be better to suggest he needs to be properly housed (indoors even!!) during the Winter in your area. If they don't want mess indoors, and this is the reason he's being shut out, suggest they get a crate .....

And from experience, it's by no means a certainty that the RSPCA will actually come out!! Say no more.

It was really scary, we had just walked back home at about 8.30pm and it was very warm and calm, we hadn't been back 5 Min's when the temperature suddenly dropped then there was a really strange noise outside, the wind suddenly picked up so fierce it blew all the furniture over in the garden, the huge parasol on the patio ended up in a garden 3 doors away, our patio table smashed against the fence, part of the fence has actually fallen down, the curtains where blowing wild into the room where the windows are open, there was so much rain we could barely see the houses across the street from us, it came down so hard it was bouncing right back up again, then suddenly after about 20 seconds it just stopped, no rain, no breeze, just calm.
we have had a lovely very warm day today, i have never seen anything like this before it was actually quite scary.
I forgot to add, i am in Liverpool.

Interesting. Wonder if it has anything to do with what was hurricane bill when it was by the US.
