I'm thinking about going to Cuba and I don't know if I can travel with landscape equipment

You probably can , but you will have to pay 60.00 cuc ( around 67.00 usd) for each equipment ... those are not for personal use so more than likely you will have to pay if they let you get them in... below is the website for cuban customs, it does not specify about the landscape equipments.. but it does tell you what you cant take there...there is not descrimnination if you are american or not , ( remember the embargo is from US to Cuba not from Cuba to US) however the cuban customs are strict for every one...

Take the list of jobs you have and write down what you do at each one ... if none of them have hedges, you don't need to carry a hedge trimmer, do you?

One trap you should avoid is thinking "big" ... make sure you have rakes small enough to get behind bushes, and a string trimmer with a narrow cutting area. A small home-style mower is useful for small places. Not everyone has their bushes 36+ inches apart, and narrow strips along sidewalks are common.

The only maintenance companies here who have the big mowers are maintaining parks, grassy drainage areas, and other large grassy areas.

I recently built a new home. Tieing in the downspouts, final grading, and landscapping are all my responsiblility. I've obtained an estimate to have the work professionally done, but I think I can save a significant amount of money doing it my self. I've trenched downspouts before and planting and creating mulch beds is no problem. My question is, what is the best equipment ot use to move around the piled up dirt so I can great a smooth finished look?

I would give this a second thought. At least get the rough grade done by someone who uses the equipment every day and understands what the soil compaction is likely to be etc. The biggest cause of water in a basement is an improper grade. A huge pain, even if you just have a crawl space, as stagnant water breeds insects and mold etc.

Finish grading can be done with hand tools if you have a lot of time and energy, but I would recommend letting the pros do this part as well. Stick to the stuff you don't need large equipment for, as even if you rent it, you don't have the hours using the equipment that the guys in the business have, and mistakes are a major pain to fix after your grass and flowers and bushes are in.

I have always been interested in capturing my surrounding evironments on film and have finally decided to take it up as a hobby before now i have been using a shody sony digital camera which i bought for around 180 pounds.now i want to buy some sort of credible equipment any help would be very much appreciated.thanks

You could easily find 35mm equipment in your price range or you could look for used medium or large format equipment. The larger the format in landscape the better since landscapes are best viewed as large high resolution prints. For the same reason, large formats like 4X5 are even better.
If you have a good grasp of camera and lens quality and functions eBay has the widest selection. If you need pro help, B&H Photo online is a good source. Check all the local shops, London has several used dealers.
Search for landscape photographers and look at what they are using.

as Ive been photograping, being my favorite hobby, I learned my true passion is landcape.

I am going to use my dads slr camera as my digital camera is useless.

What do I need... Lens etc...

TRIPOD, wide angle lens, learn about "golden hour".
